So tell the elves to go f*** themselves,
Cuz it’s Christmas time again.
Sorry…just heard that. Thought it was funny.

Dogs have that “rest” thing down. Have you ever noticed that? Have to go to the office? Have to finish Christmas shopping? Have to grocery shop, exercise, work, clean the house, cook, return phone calls and write texts? Not yet, yawns my golden doodle from his bed…I haven’t had my rest yet.

The season of spam.
The electronic kind. Not the canned kind.
Or maybe for you it’s the canned kind too.

When did people forget right from left? When did they start plowing through public doors on the wrong side, directly into you, without saying “excuse me”? And passing your car on the wrong side of the freeway? People–you go in and out public doors to the right, you pass cars on the freeway on the left. Really. It’s simple.

Just when you’re having a good time–kaplowie, kaboomie–you’re rudely reminded that you have no control over anything.
Boy I hate that.

Today’s meditation went like this. Omm…two texts chimed. Omm…doorbell rang. Omm…Depak said to think of what brings me bliss. Omm…all I could think of was napping, eating chocolate, and curling up on the sofa to watch a movie. Omm…how will this bliss of mine enrich the world?? Omm…I am criminally unspiritual.

Do you think anyone would bother to check authenticity if I added “Mensa Member” to my Twitter profile?  Because, really, being on Twitter clearly announces: I’m in Mensa.

Blissful Me

Okay, I’m doing the Depak/Oprah 21 day meditation. I’m a couple days behind, so today I was on “reconnecting with your bliss”–specifically the thing that brought you bliss in childhood–so that you can partake in that activity now. What brought me bliss as a kid was putting on a tutu and make-believe ballet dancing to classical music in the living room. I never got to take lessons. I’m not sure my time would be well spent doing that now. And I don’t think my body could handle it. What brings me bliss now is curling up on the sofa for a nap. How will that activity allow me to share my “gifts” with the world? Unless, by chance, there’s a shortage of people napping.
