Why is it that I think I have absolutely everything I need until I step into Nordies, a medi-spa, or a furniture store, and then I suddenly understand how thoroughly deprived I am? And write something with too many adjectives.
Went dark for a few days. A dear, long time friend went off to the other side. Such a treasure. She possessed the characteristics a lesser person should strive for–she was loyal, loving, forgiving, accepting, forbearing, and brave. A touchstone. And by that I mean the thing by which the value of other things is measured.
Life as an average Joe takes a lot of courage today.
That really does say it all, doesn’t it? How can an author sum up the whole of life in just three words? He kills me. But, then, that’s why his work is still around 400 years later. In the end, we’re all poor Yoricks–so, make ‘em laugh before you go.
There’s nowhere left to go. Is there any room for dreams anymore or is it all about survival? Better hope you weren’t dropped on the planet already hobbled.
The most succinct thing I can say about the world today is that it’s difficult to get heard in the din. The planet’s a cacophony of social media noise and self-promotional clamoring. Phones, emails, and text alerts ding nonstop, like pinballs pinging in our brains.
Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
I love the artful life–there’s no 9 to 5 in a cubicle, eh? No responsibility to an employer, no consequences for being late. However…you work, and work, and work for free, and then you pay to market, and market, and market your art. Whew. Really, I think an MBA would’ve been easier. And smarter.
You’ve got to love Fall. It gives you a feeling of renewal just like spring, only with a darker tang. Memories of school days, leaves scattering on the ground, and pumpkin spice in everything.
I’ve got a bad case of the “I want, I want, I wants” the last few days. The list just keeps getting longer
When I look in the mirror I can’t believe how old I look. When did this happen? And why don’t I have millions of dollars for the maintenance required to fight it?
